Another Indie Band from Malaysia, Hujan, is now known as “breakthrough” artist in Indonesia. Formed in 2005, this band is not totally the same as old Malaysian band such as Iklim and Exist. Currently, Acer (drummer), Noh (vocalist), Jaja (bassist), Dimas (keyboardist), and Aga (guitarist) has released their 2 mini albums and a studio album. They confess they never leave Malay culture from their music. They felt it was just happened.
A keyboardist said that he himself wanted to show to Indonesian that Malaysia’s music has been improving when he was interviewed by detikhot reporter when they had chat in Hard Rock Café, EX Plaza, Jakarta, Tuesday night.(10/03/2009)
He also added that not only Hujan that is one of proofs that Malaysia’s music is improving but other Malaysia’s band are also improving, and he hoped that Hujan could penetrate indonesia’s entertainment world, especially in music, so that it open new image for Malaysia’s band in Indonesia..
Moreover, although the name of Hujan band is still new in the ears of Indonesian, this band is quiet popular in virtual world that it has great possibility to penetrate Indonesia’s music world.
