After Ayat-ayat Cinta had been showed in theatres [especially] in Indonesia and Malaysia last year (2008), it is rumored that another love story movie which embedded Islamic values, Ketika Cinta Bertasbih, will be released in the mid of 2009. the same author as Ayat-ayat Cinta. HABIBURRAHMAN EL SHIRAZY always put Islamic values to each of his novels, such as Ayat-Ayat Cinta [phenomenal novel in 2004] , Diatas Sajadah cinta [collection of stories based on Islamic and Moral values which shown in one of major TV channel in Indoensia, TRANS TV, 2004], Ketika Cinta Berbuah Surga [2005], Dalam Mihrab Cinta [novelette 2007], and Ketika Cinta Betasbih [2005]. About the Author, Habiburrahman El Shirazy [closely called as Kang Abik] is a master student of Al Azhar University Cairo. He is also a founder and the manager of Pesantren Karya and Entrepreneur BASMALA INDONESIA, which is located in Semarang, Central Java. He is also nationally known as a Da’I, Novelist, and Poet. He had been given many Awards, among other things were Pena Award 2005, The Most Favorite Book and Writer 2005, dan IBF Award 2006. he is also even likely to be invited to give some talks in either national or international forums like in Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong, etc. What is different to his popular novel before [Ayat-Ayat Cinta], the character of Abdullah Khairul Azzam as a key player in Ketika Cinta Bertasbih, is not as notable as Fahri in Ayat-ayat Cinta whom is considered almost as a perfect guy. Azzam is bachelor student of Al Azhar University, Cairo. During his study, he is not graduated yet for 9 years. This is not because he is lazy or somewhat, but rather he has to work in which at the same time he has to study. He sells meatballs and chef. The reason he do all ofe these tasks is because Azzam is considered as his family’s backbone after his father had passed away, and he has to take care of his mother and two sisters in Indonesia. The movie which will be no longer released in 2009, is based on dwi- logy of Ketika Cinta Bertasbih Novels. So are you guys feeling curious now, just wait for the movie in this year!!
Bertanya sang bayu padaku Mengapa kau masih disitu Tiadakah jemu kau menunggu? Oh…
Dan buat seorang perindu Penantian hanyalah waktu Di kamus hatiku tiada istilah jemu Oh..
Hentikanlah saja jenaka bermadah Biasa terlalu sering ku dengar Ceritera cinta tiada berubah Hanya mimpi yang indah Akhirnya nanti kecewa
Bukalah sedikit hatimu Kenali siapa daku Perit ku pendam rasa hati Malu mengakui
Hentikanlah saja jenaka bermadah Biasa terlalu sering ku dengar Ceritera cinta tiada berubah Hanyalah mimpi (hanya mimpi) yang indah Akhirnya nanti kecewa
Tanpa mahu mengakui kau pun dihati Diluar sedar kau ku rindui
Penantianmu/ku hanya ruang waktu Tiba masa kan terbukti cintaku
Tak mudah percaya pada pengakuan Aku dihatimu yang tersayang
Hentikanlah saja jenaka bermadah Biasa terlalu sering ku dengar Ceritera cinta tiada berubah Hanya mimpi (hanya mimpi)…yeah…yeah… Akhirnya nanti kecewa
Ooo..kasih tercipta.. Kini kumengerti.. Walau berbisa.. Kurela kira kau bahagia
Siapa Sebenarnya aku padamu Mungkin sama dengan teman lain Yang bisa kau buat begitu Dan bila Tiada lagi teman bermain kau pulang tuk dapatkan aku itulah aku…padamu
Have you watch wayang kulit? When is the most recent time you watch it? Frankly speaking, I watch wayang kulit only in TV..in ads of "Ubat Batuk Cap Ibu dan Anak". Here goes the song "Ada seorang budak yang duka nestapa kerana ibunya sakit...lalu dia pergi mendapatkan ubat....." The song is quite catchy and has been the trade mark since I was in primary school years ago.
Wayang kulit is the traditional way for our ancestors to be entertained after hard work in paddy field and farm, long before Malaysia and Indonesia become modern developing coutries. It consists of either the black and white or colourful puppets made from paper or cow's skins.
The story's narrator is known as Tok Dalang. He will play and tell stories of Hindu's epic (Ramayana), 'cerita rakyat' and Malay's epics. It will be played in an open area and enable all people to watch it for free. A bright lamp is positioned betweeen Tok Dalang and the white screen as it will creates shadow to the screen. I think that is how motion picture revolutionize as what we see nowadays.. at least we know Asian people are creative since before, aren't we?
Cuba kau dengar Cuba kau cuba Diam bila ku cuba Tuk berbicara dengan kamu
Pernahkah kau ada Bila ku perlu Tuk meluahkan rasa hati
Dan bila kau bersuara Setia ku mendengar Agar tenang kau merasa
Siapa Sebenarnya aku padamu Mungkin sama dengan teman lain Yang bisa kau buat begitu
Dan bila Tiada lagi teman bermain Kau pulang tuk dapatkan aku Itulah aku…padamu
Cuba kau lihat Cuba kau cuba Renung ke mata aku Bila ku kaku melihatmu
Pernahkah kau ada Bila ku perlu Tuk menyatakan rasa sakit Dalam diri
Dan bila kau perlu Setia ku menunggu Agar senang kau merasa
Siapa Sebenarnya aku padamu Mungkin sama dengan teman lain Yang bisa kau buat begitu Dan bila Tiada lagi teman bermain Kau pulang tuk dapatkan aku Itulah aku…padamu
Maafkan kerana aku tak pernah Terlintas tuk menulis pada mu Salahkan ku Tak mungkin lagi aku meminta Untuk kau mendengar.. Untuk kau melihat ke mataku
Why should we watch PGL 3? Personally I feel proud to pronounce that this is the most succesfull series of theatre made by Malaysian (eventhough we have to ask help Stephen Rahman; a London citizen, to replace M.Nasir after the shooting of movie PGL couple years ago)
Take a look at PGL The Movie's trailer to get some overview:
However I missed one golden opportunity to watch it last Saturday for price RM130 (2 front row tickets) due to my hectic schedule and discussions on that day. A student offer those tickets and I said "If I can't make it, my friend should too." Then what happened is I had been scolded by my friend (alah, tak luak pun kena marah)and she decided not to talk to me for 1 day (one day is nothing-lah!)and then we get back to normal when I promise to watch other theatre in Istana Budaya after this hectic semester.
Back to our PGL Season 3, they did aggressive promotion 1 week before the theatre. Tiara Jacquelina even claimed that this might be her last appearance in this series as she is now accompanying her husband in Australia and want to give opportunities to other new talent to play that role.
I think some extra element that we can expect is magical element. I don't mind about the set. Even for the 1st season PGL used basic adjustable brown blocks and still capture audience's attention. The energy showed by their actors and actress including the supporting role are so strong and appealing!!
I'm very sure Zahim Albakri as the director will give all out. He was the Best Director Boh Cameronian Arts Awards in 2003, 2005 & 2006 and an active theatre man since years ago. He and Ida Nerina have been always produced best quality product. Why not involved Ida in PGL?
Btw, Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical also won 8 Boh Cameronian Arts Awards for - Best Director - Best Music & Sound Design - Best Set Design - Best Lighting Design - Best Costume Design - Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Best Original Script Bahasa Malaysia - Audience Choice Award
Basically Puteri Gunung Ledang is about one-sided love between Sultan Muzaffar (ruler of Malacca) and Puteri Gunung Ledang. Sultan Muzaffar's queen died and he want to remarried with Puteri Gunung Ledang because she is not a human being and always being mirrored as beautiful, wise and have a lot of servants to protect her. She agree to marry but with many conditions which are:
1. 7 trays of mosquito's heart 2. 7 trays of germ's heart 3. To build a silver bridge connecting Melaka and Gunung Ledang 4. One barrel of tears 5. One barrel of young pinang juice 6. One bowl of His Majesty's blood 7. One bowl of blood of His Majesty's son, Raja Ahmad. She also requested His Majesty
All demands were fulfilled except the 7th request. She was actually find excuse as she had no intention to marry Sultan.
So reading and listening to epic is nothing but watch it is most recommended!!
